Mission

The Center for Performing Arts, Inc. was formed in the year 2000. We are a Non Profit 501 (c) (3) Corporation with IRS tax exempt status and are in good standing with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Our mission is to strengthen education and contribute to our economy by planning and building performing spaces for local, regional and national groups focused on the arts, humanities, culture, social and political sciences.

Objective

The immediate objective of the Center for Performing Arts is to create a performance venue by renovating the current lecture hall at Wakefield High School. Our plans demonstrate the dramatic expansion of the current limited lecture hall into an excellent performance space with 275 seats. The new theater will not only serve the needs of the performers and their audiences but will also strengthen the educational opportunities at Wakefield High School which does not have an auditorium.
